放送大学CODE国際セミナー 2010年度第3回 (GLOBEセミナー)

放送大学ICT活用・遠隔教育センターでは、大学支援事業の一貫として、ICT活用教育の普及を図るため、下記のセミナーを実施します。GLOBE(Global Learning Object Brokered Exchange)参加機関から、創設時からのメンバーである、Gerard L. Hanley博士(MERLOT, Executive Director, California State University System)およびErik Duval教授(ARIADNE, Professor, Leuven Catholic University)をお招きし、学習コンテンツ開発・流通・出版のこれからの動向についてご講演をいただく予定です。当日は交流の時間も十分に用意したいと考えております。多数のご来場をお待ちいたします。

昨年より我が国でも、スマートフォンや新型PDAなど、モバイルコンピューティングが普及し始めるとともに、電子出版も本格化するに至っている。学習プラットフォームがより使いやすくなることで、これまでコンピュータに縁遠かった層にも利用が広がり、学生の学びが多様化する。多くの科目でICT利活用が普及すると、学習オブジェクトや素材が授業改善や学習過程最適化のために使われたり、有償学習オブジェクトの流通や有償無償コンテンツのパッケージ化などの可能性も出てくる。本セミナーでは、学習コンテンツの国際的な共有再利用を推進すべくグローバル検索サービスを構築してきた国際コンソーシアムの立場からお話をうかがい、高等教育における新たな学習コンテンツ流通配信のあり方を考える。

“Transforming the Business Practices for Content in Higher Education: The CSU’s Digital Marketplace and MERLOT Initiatives”
Gerard L. Hanley (Executive Director, MERLOT and Senior Director for Academic Technology Services, California State University System)
Abstracts	The California State University (CSU) has recently implemented a number of innovative technology and business practices for the creation, discovery, acquisition, and use of digital content within its educational programs. The CSU’s strategy for improving the convenient access to open education resources, library content, and commercial publisher content and using a content licensing rather than ownership strategies will be presented. The presentation will showcase projects being deployed in the CSU and will illustrate how the transformation of business and technology practices can improve access, affordability, and choice for students, faculty, libraries, and business units within higher education institutions.
Gerard L. Hanley	Gerard L. Hanley is the Executive Director of MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching) and Senior Director for Academic Technology Services for the California State University, Office of the Chancellor. At MERLOT, he directs the development and sustainability of MERLOT’s innovative services and consortium of higher education institutions, professional societies, corporations, and other digital libraries. At the CSU, Gerry oversees the development and implementation of systemwide academic technology, digital library, and accessible technology initiatives supporting CSU’s 23 campuses. Previously held positions in the CSU include Professor of Psychology, Director of Faculty Development and Director of Strategic Planning.

Erik Duval	Erik Duval is a professor in the research unit on hypermedia and databases, at the computer science department of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. His research focuses on management of and access to structured and unstructured data. In practical terms, they research repositories, federated search, harvesting, content management, but also more end user oriented aspects like information visualization, mobile information devices, multi-touch displays and mash-ups. They typically apply their results to technology enhanced learning, access to music and ‘research2.0′. His current obsession is massive hyper-personalization (“The Snowflake Effect”) – a topic on which he regularly keynote. This academic year (2009-2010), He teachse courses on: Human-Computer Interaction (course wikis for one, two and three years ago), Multimedia (2008, 2007), problem solving and design in the 1st, 2nd (last year) and 3rd bachelor of engineering, capita selecta of computer science (last year, year before). He serves as: president of the ARIADNE Foundation, chair of the IEEE LTSC working group on Learning Object Metadata, a fellow of the AACE, a member of ACM, and the IEEE computer society. on the Editorial Review Board and the Executive Advisory Board of the International Journal on E-Learning, on the Steering Committee and Editorial Board of the IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies (TLT), on the board of editors of the Journal of Universal Computer Science, a member of the informatics section of the Academia Europeae. He co-founded two spin-offs that apply research results for access to music and scientific output.

Michinori Suzuki	1952年埼玉県生まれ。1976年千葉大学人文学部卒業。同年株式会社有斐閣入社(六法編集部配属)。六法編集部では、六法電算化作業に中心として携わり、六法編集管理システムを作成。1999年電子メディア開発室開設と同時に配属。2007年電子メディア開発室長。2009年3月より取締役に就任。 2007年7月、開発した重要判例検索サービスVpassで第1回JEPA電子出版アワード「電子出版ベスト・アイデア賞」受賞。2008年10月第2回電子ペーパーアイデアコンテスト「優秀賞(ニュートン賞)」受賞(ビジネス機械・情報システム産業協議会、電子ペーパーコンソーシアム主催)。
福島正太 (東京大学出版会) Shota Fukushima (University of Tokyo Press)
Shota Fukushima	1971年東京都生まれ。1993年学習院大学文学部卒業。同年、安田生命(現・明治安田生命)グループのシステム開発会社に入社。メインフレームのプログラマーとして契約管理システムの保守・開発を担当。2000年財団法人東京大学出版会入社。システム室配属を経て、2003年編集総務部配属。主に著作権業務、企画管理システムの開発・運用ほか、電子教材開発に向けたICT活用教育の調査業務を担当。
